Our Services

King’s Home operates 22 Christ-centered therapeutic group homes and independent-living facilities in four counties. We teach necessary life skills and provide tangible services to help our residents heal from their devastating pasts, break the cycle of abuse, build healthy relationships and become independent, productive members of our community. Services are available without regard to race, creed, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, handicap, or religion.

King’s Home is dedicated to modeling a Christ-centered family for the women, children, and youth entrusted to us. In the Youth Program, a committed Christian couple lives in each of the homes with the boys or girls, providing the love and structure they need.

The Women and Family Program provides loving support and in a homelike, non-institutional setting. We offer women more than short-term emergency care; they can stay up to two years, during which time the staff assists them with completing their education, GED training, finding a job, drug or alcohol abuse issues, counseling, medical needs, child care, and meeting other basic needs, empowering these women to eventually live on their own in a stable and dignified manner.

Counseling

Because of their history of abuse, many of our residents suffer from a variety of psychological and emotional problems. Their lives have been filled with turmoil, often including sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

Our Youth Program’s full-time, licensed, Masters-level counselors provide individual and group counseling based on individual needs. They also offer family counseling for biological parents, grandparents, and other guardians, helping the family work toward eventual reunification as appropriate.

The adult women in our program are striving to make a better life for themselves and their children, and they must commit themselves to change, set goals, and take responsibility for their lives and their children’s lives. Our counseling program addresses parenting, domestic violence, drug abuse, addictions, stress management, sexual trauma, and relationships.

Education

All of our residents come to us to seek refuge from abuse, neglect, and/or homelessness. While their pasts vary greatly, virtually all of them have trouble with school. Ninety-eight percent of the youth in our homes face academic or educational deficits or have special needs. Without help, most of these children will drop out of school, dramatically increasing the chances of a life of poverty and crime. Similarly, more than half of our adult female residents arrive with little formal education. Tutoring, school fees and supplies and technology access are all vital in helping the students at King’s Home gain confidence and improve their school grades.
