Benefiting King's Home
Your participation in the Fourth Annual Queen's Ball provides hope for kids and moms at King's Home. We hope to make this experience with your son a wonderful evening filled with laughter, love, and joy!
What to Expect at The Ball:
What to Wear
The attire for The Queen’s Ball is formal/semi-formal. Most boys wore khaki pants and blazers, although a significant number wore suits and even tuxedos. Moms wore short dresses, long dresses, jumpsuits, Sunday dresses, and ballgowns. Fashion certainly runs the gamut at The Queen’s Ball.
Put simply, anything that makes you feel beautiful and anything you can convince your son to wear will be perfect.
What to Eat
Eat. Dinner. Before.
One of the things moms seemed to love last year was the chance to have some one-on-one time with their son or join friends for dinner before the event. With our hectic lives, it is rare that moms ever eat alone with their sons because mealtime is typically family time or devouring something in the car on the way to or from school or practice.
Slowing down to have dinner together is one of the best parts of the night, and we would encourage you to savor that special time with your boy(s).
There will be no entree options at The Queen’s Ball. Instead, we will have delectable sweets and deserts. Soft drinks and water will be free. Haven will accept Queen's Cash, credit cards and cash for beer and wine. Queen's Cash works just like money to purchase any adult beverage or any of the amazing attractions.
What to Spend
Queen’s Cash is the official currency of The Queen’s Ball (just pretend you are in another country and have to exchange your dollars for Queen’s Cash).
Queen’s Cash is available for purchase online now and in the days leading up to The Queen’s Ball and will be given to guests at registration for any of the attractions around the space. We will also have a station with Queen’s Cash available for purchase should you need more throughout the evening. Guests can buy additional Queen’s Cash with a check, credit card, or Venmo.
Let us strongly encourage you, however, to buy your Queen’s Cash BEFORE the event and avoid waiting in line. Having it in hand after registration will allow you and your son to start enjoying The Ball immediately. Queen’s Cash is a dollar for dollar exchange and can be purchased below.
Here is a breakdown of some of the prices for planning purposes:
Face Painting $5
Photo Booth $8
Cartoonist Rendering $10
The following attractions are free of charge:
North Star Martial Arts
The Exotic Animals of Ed's Pet World
Over the Top Mother-Son Arm Wrestling Match
King’s Home Corn Hole Toss
Queen's Cash will be available for purchase until 2:30 on 2/24. Additional Queen's Cash may be purchased at the event.
Where to Sit
If you purchased a sponsorship, you and your son will have seats at a designated table. That information will be provided at the Sponsor Registration Table. If you bought individual tickets, there will be high top tables sprinkled throughout the ballroom for your convenience.
Where to Park
We'll have complimentary valet parking at the door. King’s Home is covering the general cost of valet, but not tips. Please remember to provide tips.
When to Arrive
Registration will begin at 6.30 pm. Doors will open at 6.45 pm. The Queen’s Ball, however, will officially start at 7.00 pm when the dance party kicks off and our amazing entertainers begin. Feel free to use the time before the event starts to enjoy and select your favorites from the dessert display, buy beverages, and find a place to settle in.
